I finally gave up on my old driveway sealer

My neighbor, Frank, saw me re-coating my cracked driveway on Kempton Avenue last fall. He just shook his head and said, 'You're putting a band-aid on a broken leg.' He showed me his own driveway, which he had a pro tear out and re-pour three years ago. It still looks brand new. Mine is already peeling again. Anyone know a good concrete company on the west side?

My cousin over on Westgate had the same peeling issue. She used a company called Solid Rock Concrete, and that driveway has held up through two rough winters now. They dug out all the old material and put in a proper gravel base, which is the key. Honestly, after seeing her results, I'm saving up to do mine the right way too.

Frank really gave you the visual with that band-aid line! It's so true that a quick fix never lasts. Sometimes you just have to admit the old stuff is past saving.
