I thought those thermal imaging cameras were just a fancy toy until a job in Denver last month.
I was checking a standard brick chimney and the camera showed a cold spot behind the flue liner that I never would have felt by hand. It turned out to be a serious crack in the clay tile that was letting heat into the wall cavity. Has anyone else found a hidden problem with one of those cameras that changed your mind?

Wow, that's a scary find (and a great ad for the tech honestly).

Scary find maybe, but is it really that big a deal? Stuff gets flagged wrong all the time. Probably just a weird glitch in the system, not some major security threat.

I used to brush off false positives too until my own bank account got locked for a suspicious $2 coffee purchase. That kind of glitch can really mess up your day. Now I see why getting these alerts, even if they're wrong sometimes, is actually important.
