Got attacked by a squirrel in an attic in Wichita last Tuesday

I was running a new coax line through this old house and this dang squirrel came flying out of nowhere, chattering and hopping around like it owned the place. Almost fell through the ceiling trying to get away from it. Has anyone else had wild animals mess up a job like that?

Friend of mine had a possum drop down right behind him from a rafter in a garage attic down near Austin. He screamed like a kid and smacked his head on a joist trying to spin around, ended up with a bruise for a week. The possum just stared at him and waddled off like it was no big deal.

...and you're telling me you didn't at least consider just leaving the coax and running the other way? I gotta know, did the squirrel actually bite at you or was it more of a bluff charge? Because those things are basically just rats with good PR, but they can sure make you look like a fool scrambling around in some dusty attic. Also, how long did you have to wait before you felt safe going back up there?

@emery_black that "rats with good PR" line got me. My buddy had a raccoon corner him in a crawlspace down in Tulsa. He backed out so fast he ripped his pants on a nail and had to sit in his van for 20 minutes waiting for it to leave. Never went back until the homeowner trapped it. Did you ever take a lunch break and come back to find the squirrel still hanging around up there?
