inTalking to a kid at the comic shop made me feel ancient
The kid at your shop was right about digital being faster, but he missed one thing about that #300. You said 1988 but Amazing Spider-Man #300 actually came out in May 1988, so technically it's a late 80s book not an early one. I think the whole paper vs digital thing is more about what you grew up with than what's actually better. Holding that beat up copy with the creases and the old ads, that's a feeling a screen can't give you no matter how many comics you store.

inThat week I binged Sailor Moon Crystal and did a total 180 on magical girl shows
Is it really that deep though? I mean, I get that you had a moment where you saw something different, but calling it a full 180 on a whole genre because you liked one show seems kind of dramatic. Like if I watched a good episode of a soap opera, I still wouldn't say I get soap operas now. Sailor Moon Crystal is still basically a pretty straightforward action show with glitter, not some mind-blowing art piece.

inHad to choose between linen and cotton for a summer dress, picked linen, and now I'm itchy
My 12 year old linen duvet is still going strong and I barely wash it, maybe twice a season. The scratchiness goes away after a few wears if you actually use it instead of babying it. Wrinkles are part of the look, that's the whole point of linen. Just roll with it and stop fighting the fabric.

inSwitched to a retractable leash after 5 years of hating on them
Actually it's not the leash itself that teaches pulling, it's how people use them. The locking mechanism is the key part people miss. You're right that constant tension is the problem, not the retractable design. If you let the cord stay tight all the time the dog learns that's normal. But locking it short for walks and unlocking for open areas creates clear rules. A lot of people just let the cord hang loose or stay locked the whole time and then blame the tool. It works fine if you manage it right.

inGot attacked by a squirrel in an attic in Wichita last Tuesday
...and you're telling me you didn't at least consider just leaving the coax and running the other way? I gotta know, did the squirrel actually bite at you or was it more of a bluff charge? Because those things are basically just rats with good PR, but they can sure make you look like a fool scrambling around in some dusty attic. Also, how long did you have to wait before you felt safe going back up there?
