Rant: My dado stack chipped a tooth mid-cut on a maple face frame

It happened right after lunch yesterday, and I had to stop everything to swap in a fresh blade. Anyone have a favorite brand for dado sets that can handle hardwoods without this?

Tell me about it, mine started flaking after like a month. The gold lettering on the spine is basically gone now, just looks cheap. I was so mad because I saved up for that set forever. Feels like they used the worst quality materials on purpose.

Man that's such a bummer. I had a book do that and I used a tiny bit of clear nail polish over the rest of the lettering to seal it. It stopped the flaking from getting worse. It's a total pain to have to fix something brand new though. They really should make these things to last if they're gonna charge so much.
