Spent 45 minutes looking for my boning knife because it fell into the trim bucket
I was rushing through a side of beef and dropped my Wusthof right into the fat pile, then spent almost an hour digging through it before I found it. Anybody else lose good tools in the trim bucket and feel like an idiot afterwards?

@derek_perez is right, a magnetic strip is the best $20 I ever spent.

A magnetic strip on your cutting table right above where you're working is the best investment you can make. In my experience, knives fall into trim buckets way more often than you'd expect, especially when you're in a hurry. Another trick is to keep a cheap magnetic tray right next to your board so you have a spot to drop tools without leaving the station. Your mileage may vary but I've never had a boning knife disappear on me after I set that up.

Same kind of thinking applies to tool storage in any trade @derek_perez, a little organization saves a lot of headache when you're in a rush. It's wild how much time we waste hunting for stuff that's right in front of us.
