That one client who tried to stiff me on a $2,800 move

Last spring I had a client in Denver sign a contract, then after we finished the move they claimed we damaged a sofa that was already scratched. They refused to pay the final $2,800. Took me to small claims court and I won because I had photos from the walkthrough. Has anyone else dealt with clients backing out of payment after a signed agreement?

Photos from the walkthrough saved me too when a Denver client tried the same thing.

Photos saved me too. A signed contract should mean something, but some people will try anything to get out of paying. Taking pictures before and after every move is just standard practice now in my book. It costs nothing and can save you thousands if someone decides to lie. The judge saw right through their excuse and having that proof made all the difference.
