inFinally got my seam lines to disappear on a tricky Berber job
Doesn't the water risk causing mold in the backing later on?

inI used to laugh at the idea of the 2008 financial crisis being planned, but a book I read last year changed my mind
Totally get that shift in thinking. Reading "The Devil's Casino" about Lehman Brothers did the same thing for me, showing how much was known behind closed doors. It really blurs the line between reckless greed and something more planned.

inWas reading an old service manual and the torque spec for a 1990s lug nut blew my mind
Remember when people used to just crank lugs down with the tire iron until they felt like stopping? My uncle swore by the "good and tight" method on his farm truck. Never lost a wheel, but he also sheared off a few studs over the years. Makes you wonder how many wheels are just held on by hope and rust right now.

inTIL the average true crime podcast's research trip emits more carbon than my monthly commute.
Look at how much we travel for work now anyway. My company sends people across the country for a two hour meeting that could be a call. So a podcast flying for an interview is just normal business, not some special crime. @milabarnes makes it sound like the entertainment industry is the only problem, but every office does this. We order stuff online that gets flown in overnight. We drive to the store for one item. Picking on a true crime podcast feels like missing the bigger picture where we all make these choices every single day.

inAppreciation post: I finally figured out why the 'birds aren't real' thing is a perfect example of a psyop
Right? And like @janarivera said, it's everywhere once you start looking... I saw a car ad the other day that did the same thing with tracking your driving.
