PSA: That 50 cent price difference on spray foam cans added up fast
I was at Home Depot in Boise and grabbed the cheap brand of gap filler for a crawlspace job instead of the usual Great Stuff. Saved maybe 3 bucks per can, but 12 cans later the stuff was so runny I had to go back for the good kind anyway. Anyone else learn that cutting corners on sealants just costs you double in the end?

Why are we acting like three bucks a can is some kind of life changing savings? If you're doing 12 cans of gap filler for one crawlspace, maybe the problem isn't the brand but that you're using the wrong tool for the job. I've slapped the cheap stuff on window frames and it held up fine for years, no runs or drips. Sounds like you either got a bad batch or you were spraying in weather that was too hot. Not every corner cut is a disaster, sometimes it's just a lesson in reading the can instructions.

lol preach, cheap foam works fine if you read the can.

My cheap foam runny nightmare on a hot Boise afternoon taught me that lesson too.
