Got hit with a $35 ATM fee at a casino in Vegas last weekend
Stopped at the ATM inside the Bellagio to grab $60 for a late night snack run. Machine said fee was $8.99. Swiped my card and got charged $35. Turns out the casino adds their own fee on top of the bank fee and the ATM operator fee. Took the receipt to the front desk and demanded a refund. Manager actually gave me cash back after I threatened to tweet about it. Has anyone else dealt with these triple layer ATM fees?

That "straight up robbery" part is exactly right. The worst part is they get away with it because most people don't even look at the receipt until later. Casinos know you're not thinking clearly when you're in the middle of a trip, so they pile on these junk fees hoping you won't notice. I've started just bringing cash with me everywhere now, or using the cash advance counter inside the casino instead of the ATMs. Even if the line is longer, you avoid that triple layer nonsense. The manager giving you cash back proves they know it's shady too. They just rely on people being too tired or drunk to push back.

Saw a guy at a casino in Atlantic City last month try to dispute a $12 ATM fee at the front desk, and they just shrugged and said it's "third party." He stood there arguing for ten minutes while the machine kept beeping behind him.

Wait what, they really hit you with a triple fee like that? That's straight up robbery, not a fee. Good on you for getting the cash back though, managers hate bad press.
