I used to panic-book vacations, but tracking fares for months showed me patience pays

Seeing airfare dip two days before departure convinced me to hold off on buying tickets.

Watching prices like that takes serious nerve, honestly. I tried it once for a holiday trip and the stress wrecked me for weeks (I ended up paying more, of course). It seems like a solid plan for flexible, off-season trips though. I could never do it for something with fixed dates, like a wedding. The gamble just feels too big when you absolutely have to be there. So yeah, patience pays if you can actually handle the wait.

Book weddings with alerts too, @skyler607 has the right idea.

Yeah I set price alerts and then just forget about it. Check once a week, not every day. Saves your sanity when you're trying to time it right.
