I tried a new mystery series on a popular platform. It got canceled right after the first season ended. How do you decide what to watch when so many shows get cut short?

How do you deal with the risk of starting something new? I got burned a few times, so now I wait to see if a show gets renewed for season two before I start it, or I stick to limited series that have a set ending planned. It sucks to miss the initial buzz, but at least I know I won't get left hanging, lol.
