Serious question, does anyone actually trust the built-in diagnostic on the Garmin G5000?

I just hit 50 false positives on a single unit in a Citation at our shop in Fort Worth... that's a full work week wasted chasing ghosts. The system flagged a comms fault that didn't exist, but the real issue was a corroded pin in the tail section it never even sniffed. What's your go-to method for verifying its alerts before you tear into a panel?

Honestly, that G5000 diag is a starting point, not a finish line. We've had good luck pairing it with old-school wire checks and looking at the actual data bus traffic. A lot of those faults clear up after a simple avionics power cycle, which tells you it's probably a software hiccup.

Couldn't you just cross-check with the MEL and a quick manual system test first?

My friend tried that, @the_xena, and it still broke lol.
