Tripped a zone 5 alarm in a hotel lobby and the manager went ballistic
Was running a quick sensor test at the Grandview Inn downtown and accidentally set off the whole ground floor system at 2 PM checkout time, had to climb a ladder in front of 30 angry guests to reprogram the panel right then and there, has anyone else dealt with a client who won't let you silence the horns during testing?

The alarm code might have triggered a sprinkler system test that wasn't your fault.

Oh man, you really think so? I mean, that would be just my luck - a sprinkler test going off because of some random alarm code. That sounds like something that would happen in a comedy movie, not in real life. But hey, I guess it's better than me actually messing up the system myself. Still, I'm just picturing the sprinklers going off and everyone looking at me like I'm the one who pulled the fire alarm for fun.

Nah that's on them for not having a mute button panel within reach. Any decent security system lets you kill the horns quick without scaling a ladder like some kind of acoustic superhero. Sounds like the manager was having a bad day and took it out on you. The worst part is when they just stand there watching you scramble instead of offering a step stool or a key to a maintenance closet. Honestly, if they're gonna freak out over a sensor test during checkout time, they need to rethink their whole setup. You did the right thing fixing it fast instead of walking away and letting it blare for another hour.
