PSA: My trip to set up a system in a beach house showed me moisture is no joke
Was down at the coast last week installing alarms in a rental right by the water. The salt spray messed with the contacts faster than I expected, idk. How do you guys protect gear in damp spots like that?

Got any pictures of how the contacts looked after the spray got to them? I'm curious if it was more about surface rust or if the actual metal started to flake away (that stuff can get everywhere). Did the owner have any kind of basic cover over the components already, or was everything just totally exposed to the elements?

Hey @lunaf67, what if the spray didn't really hurt the contacts much? Maybe it was only surface rust that wipes clean, and having no cover let everything dry out faster.

Why do we always underestimate how fast moisture kills gear? It's not just beach houses, it's any damp spot.
