Found a weird trick for stuck AN fittings that actually worked

I was fighting a seized 3/8 inch fuel line fitting on a Cessna 172 for over an hour, and my foreman in Tampa joked about trying a zip tie. I looped a heavy-duty one through the eye of the swivel and yanked it counter-clockwise with pliers, and it broke free on the first try. Has anyone else found a bizarre non-tool item that saved the day on a stubborn fastener?

That's actually a swaged fitting, not a swivel, but clever trick.

Yeah @the_aaron, you're right about the fitting name. Still seems like a useful shortcut though. The name doesn't change what it does.

Didn't I read that swaged fittings can handle way more pressure than a swivel? That makes the name pretty important for safety. Calling it wrong could lead to a bad choice on a real job.
