Saltillo tile or luxury vinyl plank was my big headache

I went with Saltillo for my living room in our 1950s ABQ house because I wanted the classic New Mexico look. Six months later and I'm still finding red dust every time I sweep - has anyone else dealt with this sealing nightmare? What did you pick for your old house floors?

Respectfully gotta disagree here. Ngl I ripped out my Saltillo after two years of fighting that dust and went with luxury vinyl plank instead. Way less hassle and honestly my AC hasn't worked any harder than before.

Six months later and I'm still finding red dust" - this hits home. Mine still sheds a little even after three seal coats. I did get a nice bonus though, the Saltillo keeps our place cool in summer (big plus in ABQ).

Tbh the dust is real. I'm like a year in and still find it in random corners. But yeah that cooling effect is no joke, my electric bill dropped like 30 bucks last summer.
