PSA: My pantry purge turned into a week of eating the same thing
Honestly, I cleared out my pantry to stick to minimalism, and now I'm stuck with beans and rice for days. Tbh, it's getting old fast, and I miss having options.

Oh man I feel this so hard. What helped me was treating it like a cooking challenge instead of a punishment. I'd do one day with cumin and chili powder for a taco bowl vibe, next day throw in some soy sauce and ginger for an Asian twist. Kept a jar of salsa on hand to mix in when I got bored. It's still beans and rice but at least my mouth doesn't hate me as much lol.

Honestly, I don't see minimalism meaning you have to eat the same thing every day. Tbh, with just beans and rice, you can mix in different spices or veggies to change it up. Ngl, it's kinda freeing to make do with what you have and get creative.

Felt the same way until I tried cutting back on my grocery list. Playing with spices and what I already had turned meal prep into a game. It sounds small, but that shift made a big difference in how I see stuff now.

Come on, is eating beans and rice with different spices really that deep? It just sounds like basic cooking to me, not some life changing minimalism thing. I get trying to be creative, but calling it freeing feels like a stretch. Sometimes you just want a pizza without overthinking it, you know? Making do with what you have is fine, but it's not always some big spiritual experience. Lmao, it's food, not a philosophy.
