Bought a cheap glass cutter from Harbor Freight for a job in Spokane, lost a whole pane and half a day.

The wheel skipped on a simple straight cut on a 36-inch piece of 1/4 inch clear. Had to replace the glass and redo the work, which cost me about $80 in materials and four hours. What's your go-to cutter brand for reliable daily use?

Classic Harbor Freight. Their tools are basically a single-use item. Fletcher or Toyo are solid, won't ghost you mid-cut.

Ghosting you mid-cut is the perfect way to put it. My Harbor Freight angle finder gave up halfway through a simple picture frame job. It just decided to retire, no notice. You pay for the cheap tool up front, then pay again with your time and a ruined piece of wood. The good brands might hurt your wallet once, but they don't break your heart. What was the last tool that quit on you?

My cheap tape measure locked up for good right as I marked a critical cut.
