My sister told me my color choices are too safe

We were looking at my recent batch of tumblers, and she said, 'They're all blue and green. Where's the risk?' She's not even a glassblower, just a painter. But it hit different because she was right. I've been sticking to the same palettes for a year, scared to waste good color bar. Has anyone else had a non-glass person give you a kick in the pants about your work?

Oh man, that's the best kind of push. Grab a cheap rod of something wild, like a hot pink or orange, and just stripe it into your next piece. You can always layer your safe colors over it if you hate it, but you might love the pop.

What specific color did she suggest you try first? Sometimes a painter's eye sees combos we miss.

Ugh, I feel this. My friend told me to try a weird mustard yellow first and I was so unsure. It actually worked way better than I thought it would.
