Showerthought: I tried two ways to find clients and one brought in 90% of my work
Honestly, for the first year I just posted on big job boards and sent cold emails, maybe getting one reply for every 50 tries. Ngl, it was brutal. Then I started going to local meetups for small businesses in my city, just showing up and talking to people. After 3 months of that, I had 4 steady clients from those connections. Tbh, the face-to-face thing just works way better when you're starting out. Has anyone else found that local networking beats online applications for freelance work?

Funny how a real conversation can do more than a hundred emails, right?

Can confirm, shaking hands at the hardware store got me more leads than any online ad ever did.
