Switched from a basic airlock to a silicone waterless lid for my kimchi and the difference in smell control was huge.

Honestly, the old airlock still let a little funk into my kitchen, but the new lid from 'Fermenta' contains everything perfectly, so has anyone else found a better way to handle the smell?

Disagree, that funk is part of the charm. My kitchen should smell alive.

So you basically turned your kimchi jar into a silent but deadly ninja. My old setup was like a tiny, stinky fog machine for the whole apartment. The neighbors probably thought I was brewing socks. Good to know there's a lid that actually keeps the funk in check for once.
