Dealt with the same slippery handle problem last week. My tools kept twisting in my hand during a big job. Tried tape first, but it just got gross and sticky. Your leather fix sounds a lot more classy, like something that might actually last. Guess I'm heading to the craft store now.

What glue did you end up using? I used rubber cement for mine because it stays a little flexible, and I wrapped a thin strip real tight before trimming the ends. The grip is way better now, almost like it molds to your hand after a few uses.
