Vent: Switched to cast iron after my nonstick pan scandal

Last month I found a flake of my supposedly non-stick coating in my scrambled eggs and it freaked me out so bad I threw the whole pan away. I bought a $20 pre-seasoned Lodge skillet at the hardware store in Wichita and honestly it's made the best fried chicken I've ever had. Has anyone else gotten weirded out by their cookware suddenly and made the jump?.

i mean i get being grossed out by the flake but honestly a little bit of teflon isn't gonna kill you. people act like their pans are poisoning them when really most of us grew up eating off scratched up nonstick and we turned out fine.

Ngl I feel like people just need something to worry about. It's not that deep.

My mom's old scratched pan is still going 20 years later so I get you completely.
