My grandma's famous peach cobbler turned into a kitchen disaster last Sunday

I was trying to make my grandma's recipe for a family dinner, the one she always wrote 'do not stir' on in big letters. I had the butter melting in the dish, the batter poured over, and the peaches on top, just like she said. Then my dog bumped into me and I dropped the whole thing, a 9x13 glass pan, right onto the oven door. Glass and sticky batter went everywhere, and the peaches rolled under the fridge. I spent an hour cleaning it up, and my kitchen smelled like burnt sugar for two days. I had to run to the store and buy a store-bought pie, which felt like a crime against my family's cooking pride. Has anyone else ever had a recipe go that wrong right at the finish line? I need some funny stories to make me feel better about my cobbler fail.

It's always the final step that gets you, like the universe hates a perfect dish.

Honestly the final step is the best part, it's where you really earn that win.

My last attempt at caramel sauce seized up right at the end (it was so frustrating). Letting the pan cool for a minute before adding any liquid finally worked for me. That little pause seems to calm everything down.
