A client in Portland told me her skin felt tight after my usual routine

She said it felt like a sunburn, even though I used the same gentle cleanser and hydrating serum I always do. I realized the humidity in her apartment was way lower than my treatment room, so my products were drying her out faster. Now I ask about home environment before I pick a moisturizer. Anyone else adjust their plan based on a client's daily climate?

That humidity check is smart, I even ask about their daily commute now.

Asking about the daily commute is a great idea. I used to just focus on the house itself but that changed my whole approach.

That point about the daily commute is huge. I started asking if people work in those old office buildings with the super dry, recycled air all day. It WRECKS skin. A client who was fine at home would come in with a totally different skin feel after her work week. Now I basically have a summer plan and a winter plan for my regulars based on their office AC versus home heat.
