Just realized something about those old Otis relay panels

I overheard a guy at the supply house say he always draws a quick diagram on the inside of the panel door before he starts pulling wires, even if the schematic is right there. Tried it last Tuesday on a 90s unit and it saved me a solid 20 minutes of head scratching. Anyone else have a little trick for keeping track of relay logic on the fly?

Honestly, my trick is just talking to the relays like they can hear me.

Wait, you gave them all the same name? That's just asking for trouble. How do you keep track of which Fred you're yelling at when one acts up? My brain would short circuit trying to remember if Fred by the door is the good one or the one that hates me.
