My old boss insisted on using a $3 flux pen for every SMD rework
I thought it was a waste of time and stuck with paste for years. Just tried his method on a stubborn PS5 HDMI port and the solder flow was perfect. Anyone else have a simple tool they resisted that actually works great?

Totally... my last shop had this awful no-name solder that would just ball up. Switched to the good stuff and felt like an idiot for putting up with it for so long.

Remember my buddy who swore by a cheap plastic spudger for prying up connectors? I made fun of him until I saw him pop one open in two seconds flat. Makes you wonder what else we're overcomplicating, right?
