A customer's complaint about my solder joints changed my whole approach

Some guy on a Pioneer receiver said my work looked like 'chicken scratch' and made me realize I was rushing rework too much. Now I take 3 extra seconds per joint to flow it properly and haven't had a callback since. Any of you guys run into a critique that actually made you better?

Man, my first rework looked like a spider had a seizure on the board.

Read somewhere that most first reworks look like a mess, @the_sam.

Spider had a seizure" is brutal but honestly pretty accurate for how most first drafts go. That said, I've seen a few people actually nail their first rework, usually when they kept the changes small and focused on one fix at a time. Not saying it's common, but it's not always a total mess if you don't try to redo everything at once.
