Shoutout to the person who warned me about jade plant overwatering

Overwatering succulents is a hard habit to kick. We all want to be good plant parents but sometimes less is more. Let the dirt dry out completely and your jade will thank you.

Had to pick between The Room and Birdemic for bad movie night last Friday

You know what, this actually changed my mind. I used to roll my eyes at people who said things like "litmus test" about bad movies, but now I totally get it. The ones who walked out on that scene definitely missed the whole point of just letting something be gloriously terrible.

That time I watered my succulents every day for 6 months before realizing

I mean I gotta say I see it a little differently than most people here. Your succulents got mushy because you drowned them, sure, but honestly a lot of people underwater their succulents too and they get all shriveled and sad. I killed a whole batch of echeveria last year because I was so scared of overwatering that I only gave them a tiny sip once a month and they basically dried up from the roots up. The real trick is to just stick your finger in the soil and feel if it's bone dry an inch down, then give them a good soak until water runs out the bottom. I think we all learn the hard way with plants, nobody reads the tag or looks up the care until half the collection is dead.

The proofing time chart in my grandmother's 1950s cookbook said 90 minutes for brioche and I always trusted it, but after 3 failed attempts last Sunday I finally checked the yeast type and realized modern instant yeast works way faster than the old active dry she used.

Ngl @janarivera, it's actually an egg ratio issue not a time thing that makes brioche fail like that.

Update: Burned my chicken wings so bad I almost threw the air fryer out

Happened to me with frozen chicken wings too. 400 degrees is way too hot for frozen stuff. I ruined a whole bag of frozen dumplings the same way. Now I always cook frozen items at 350 and add 5 extra minutes if needed. The secret is to not overcrowd the basket and flip halfway. Also get yourself a cheap digital thermometer. Changed everything for me. My kitchen smelled like a grease fire for two days but a bowl of white vinegar on the counter took the smell right out.
