Seeing way more EV charger installs in my area this year

Last month I did three in one week, which is double what I saw all last year. Are you guys getting a lot of these calls now too?

My neighborhood in Phoenix has maybe two new ones on the whole block. The hype feels bigger than the actual installs from what I see. Contractors I know say the quotes are high and a lot of people back out. It's not taking off here like the news says it should.

You're right, @kellyjones, the hype is wild compared to the roofs I see. My own place is a perfect example of why it's slow. Got a quote last year that was more than a new car, and my old swamp cooler died the same week. Guess which one got my money? The AC unit, because Phoenix summer waits for no one. The math just doesn't work for a lot of folks yet, even if you want it.

Wonder if the quotes are high because of the panel costs or the labor. Heard some installers are charging a huge premium just because they can right now, while others are still figuring out the new rules for the utility hookups.
