35 feet of wire mold took me 3 hours... then I found the stud finder was broken

I was putting up wire mold in a basement last week and kept hitting nothing but air with my anchors. Took me 45 minutes of cussing and re-doing the same stretch before I noticed my stud finder had a dead battery and was just blinking random. Picked up a new one from the truck and suddenly all my marks lined up perfect. Has anyone else had a tool just lie to them like that for an entire job?

My buddy Tom was doing crown molding in his den last year and his laser level was giving him a perfectly straight line line across the ceiling. He got the whole room done, stepped back to admire it, and realized the laser was about a quarter inch off level the whole time because the little bubble vial had come loose inside the housing. He had to rip down every piece and redo them all.

Third time I've heard a similar story this year. Cheap bubble vials are the WORST.

Always check the vial before you start, takes ten seconds.
