That dumpster behind the art supply store on 3rd Street turned my whole week around
I was digging behind there last Tuesday looking for canvas scraps and found a box of like 40 unopened tubes of oil paint from the 90s. The store closed down and just threw everything out, but those paints still mixed up fine. Has anyone else stumbled on a score that looked like trash but ended up being legit art supplies?

The art store on 5th used to throw out their damaged stretcher bars and I built two whole canvases from what they tossed... probably saved me forty bucks easy. Found some old palette knives in a dumpster behind a frame shop once too, still had decent handles just needed a little cleaning with mineral spirits. It's wild what people throw away when they could just donate it or sell it cheap. My whole studio is basically furnished from trash picking around the art district, you'd be surprised what ends up in the alley.

Wait what art district is this... I've been dumpster diving around downtown but nobody ever throws out palette knives, just dried up paint tubes and broken frames.
