That Tuesday in Phoenix when everything went right for once...
I finished a 1,200 square foot basement in 6 hours with zero mudding mistakes because the tape laid flat and the corners hit perfect, has anyone else had a day where the drywall gods just smiled on you?

Ngl that perfect tape lay is pure skill, not luck. Just gotta commit to the first pass.

morgan_martinez said it's about committing and I get that, but I gotta ask - what's your secret for getting the tape to lay flat the first time? Because I've had days where even with perfect mud consistency (like that peanut butter sweet spot) the corners still bubble up on me. Was there something different about how you prepped the joints beforehand, like did you vacuum the dust or run a wet sponge along the edges? I'm genuinely curious because that kind of perfect run is so rare for me, it feels like aligning planets or something.

That "everything went right for once" line hits different for me. I've never had a day where drywall actually cooperated that well, sounds like a dream honestly.
