Update: My DIY standing desk is wrecking my back

I made this desk from some old shelves I had, figured it would fix my slouching. But now after a few days, my back hurts all the time and I'm leaning over even worse. Maybe I set the height too high or something, idk, but it's just making things harder. Now I've got this big thing in my room and I don't know what to do with it.

Check if your elbows are at a 90-degree angle when you type. How did you pick the height without a template or guide?

Rubyshah's tip on the 90-degree elbow angle is spot on. I found that if my desk is too high, my shoulders start to hurt after a while. To get it right without a guide, I sat in my chair and measured from the floor to my elbow, then built the desk to that height. It made a huge difference for my posture.
