Internet went down at my Airbnb right before a big call. Pulled out my backup and everything went smoothly.

The flip side is those data caps can sneak up on you. Burned through my whole month's allowance once just keeping the internet on during a blackout. Got hit with a nasty surprise on the next bill.

Ugh mobile hotspots are actual lifesavers in those moments. I mean mine got me through a whole storm last year when the wifi died.
