Fruit rubber bands are holding my rental desk together... need a better fix

The table in my current Airbnb wobbles every time I type... it's driving me nuts during work calls. I grabbed some bands from my banana bunch to tie the legs... but they keep slipping. Has anyone found a solid way to stabilize furniture in short term stays? I'm worried about damaging things with DIY hacks.

That worry about damage... a cardboard shim under the leg fixes wobbles without any risk.

Cardboard shims are handy, but they can sometimes slide around on smooth floors. @drew55 mentioned napkins gripping better, which makes sense since fabric has more friction. Why not try wrapping a bit of cardboard in a paper towel for extra hold? It stops the slip and still protects the surface.

Last month in a Chicago Airbnb, I had the same wobble issue with a kitchen table. I used to swear by those thick hair ties for quick fixes, thinking they'd hold tight. But after seeing how a folded napkin under the leg worked better, I switched methods. The napkin didn't slip and was easy to remove without any marks. So harperg76's cardboard shim idea is spot on for avoiding damage. Now I always keep a bit of cardboard in my bag for trips.
