Wasted $200 on an "AI email tool" that couldn't even handle my basic list
I signed up for SmartWriter last month thinking it would save me hours on cold emails for my dog grooming promos. Nope - it kept messing up the names and sent one to a client saying 'Dear Max' when the dog's name was Bella, lol. Anyone else get burned by one of those flashy AI marketing tools that just can't handle real data?

The whole 'Dear Max' thing is funny but honestly the real issue is that these tools can't tell basic facts apart. It's just pattern matching, not actual understanding.

Wait, are we really surprised that the thing that turns "write an essay" into "Dear Max, I hope this letter finds you well" isn't exactly a genius?
I mean, it's like getting mad at a calculator for not knowing how to write poetry. Sure, it's kinda funny when it messes up, but nobody's claiming it's actually thinking in there. It's just stringing words together based on patterns it's seen, and sometimes those patterns are from weird internet posts or badly written instructions.
Maybe the real joke is on us for expecting something that's basically a very complicated parrot to know the difference between a fact and a typo. Honestly, the whole "Dear Max" thing is just the cherry on top of the "we have no idea what we're building" sundae.

And they keep charging more for it like it's going to suddenly wake up and be self-aware tomorrow. "Dear Max" is just the AI's way of saying "I have no clue what you want but here's a letter format anyway.
