Wasted $200 on a drawing tablet I never should have bought

I bought a Huion a few months back because it was on sale and I thought I needed a screen tablet to do digital art. Turns out I hate looking down at the screen while drawing. My old Wacom Intuos was fine. Now the Huion just sits in a drawer. Anyone else regret a big purchase like that?

looking down at the screen while drawing" is exactly what got me too. Did you try using it as a second monitor for a week before giving up, or did you just know right away it wasn't gonna work? Cause I forced myself to use mine for like 3 days and my neck was killing me the whole time.

Funny enough, I was actually one of those people who swore by the Cintiq for years. But @harper_foster your experience mirrors mine exactly. That neck pain finally made me switch to an iPad Pro and I haven't looked back since.

Did you ever catch yourself drawing on the Cintiq and then realize you were basically doing a permanent chin tuck for hours? My neck was so wrecked I had to ice it after sessions like I pulled a muscle. Ngl my iPad Pro setup is basically a glorified way for me to draw while slouched on the couch like a gremlin, but at least my spine doesn't hate me in the morning.
