Honestly, my entire portfolio website crashed the day before a big gallery submission deadline
Tbh, I was uploading my final 12 pieces for the 'Future Visions' open call in Chicago when the whole thing just went blank, giving me a 500 server error for like 3 hours straight. Ngl, I almost cried because I spent the last two weeks straight just rendering and polishing everything, and the host's support line was useless. Has anyone else had their art site completely fail at the worst possible moment, and what did you switch to?

Oh man, that's the worst. My friend had her portfolio on Squarespace totally freeze during an application for a residency. She ended up having to email the files directly from her phone at like 11:50 pm, it was a total mess. She switched to Cargo after that and hasn't had a crash since.

Yikes, that is actual nightmare fuel. The stress of a deadline plus tech failing is the worst combo. I'd be so mad if a platform crashed at the last minute like that. Good on her for making it work from her phone, but what a hassle. Switching platforms after that kind of mess makes total sense.

Ugh that sounds like a total nightmare. Tech glitches at the worst possible time are the WORST. Glad she found something more reliable.
