TIL a trick for getting a seized turbo housing off a 5.9 Cummins
Heated it with a torch for about 30 seconds while tapping the flange with a brass hammer, and it popped right off after I'd been fighting it for an hour. Anyone have a different method for those stubborn ones?

Wait, you only heated it for thirty seconds?

Actually, thirty seconds is perfect for some things. My microwave has a lower power setting, so it warms stuff without turning it into rubber. Try it with a slice of pizza, just enough to take the chill off.

My 6.0 Powerstroke was the same way last winter. I used a propane torch for a solid five minutes on the exhaust side, then two good whacks with a dead blow hammer.
