Grocery store self checkout ruined my Saturday morning
I was at the Publix on Main Street last Saturday just trying to grab a few things. The lady in front of me had a full cart and used the self checkout, scanning each item super slow and then fumbling with her phone for coupons. Took her 15 minutes and the machine beeped at her like 8 times. Now I avoid that lane completely and just wait for a real cashier.

Honestly, I feel your pain. That happened to me at Kroger a few weeks ago and I was about to lose it. What worked for me is I started going to the store first thing in the morning, like right when they open at 7am. The self checkouts are empty and there's nobody dragging things out. Plus the regular cashiers are fully awake and just as annoyed by the slow people as you are, so they ring you up fast. Ngl, I also just started walking right past the self checkout lane if I see more than one person in it. It's not worth the stress, especially on a Saturday.

Have you tried the Walmart grocery pickup thing? I was skeptical at first but it's been a lifesaver for avoiding the self checkout chaos. You just pull up, they load your stuff, and you're out in like 2 minutes.

Wait wait wait @drew_reed62 you're telling me you actually go to the grocery store at 7am on a Saturday just to dodge the self checkout mess? That's wild dedication man. I barely have the energy to roll out of bed before 10 on weekends. The early bird thing makes sense though, I bet the produce is fresher too before all the slow coupon people get their hands on it.
