Had a chat with my neighbor about why I stress clean every time my mom calls

My neighbor Linda saw me power washing my driveway at 9pm last Tuesday and asked why I was so wired. I told her my mom had just left a voicemail and I needed to burn off the anxiety before I could listen to it. She said she does the same thing with reorganizing her pantry whenever her sister texts her. It made me realize how many of us use random chores to avoid hard conversations - anyone else got a weird coping habit like that?

Actually @kim_johnson51, I think late night power washing is just good parenting finding a rare quiet moment to get things done. Nothing wrong with folding socks at 2am either, that's when the house finally calms down.
