Back in 2014 my bus route through Austin took 25 minutes. Now it is 45 on a good day.

I took the same 22 bus line from South Congress to downtown for 8 years. Construction on the new light rail tracks along Lamar stretched the ride out and added 15 minutes of sitting in traffic. Has anyone else watched their commute time double without any real warning?

Man that sucks to hear. I remember when the 22 was actually decent, back before they started all that rail work. My old route from Riverside to downtown went from 20 minutes to almost 40 once they tore up everything near the lake. It is crazy how they just drop these projects on you without giving folks a heads up that it will mess with their daily lives for years. You are not alone in this though, I think half of Austin has seen their bus times double since 2014. The city just keeps growing and nobody seems to plan for how that affects the people who actually ride the bus everyday.

My buddy @theagibson had the exact same problem on the 22 bus too.
