Update: My phone's location history was a bigger problem than I thought

I was checking my Google account activity and saw my location was logged every 15 minutes for months. I turned that setting off immediately and now I'm wondering what other apps are doing the same thing. Has anyone found a good way to check all their apps for this kind of tracking?

My flashlight app tracked me too, that was the last straw.

Check your app permissions in your phone settings. Go through each app one by one and turn off location access for anything that doesn't absolutely need it to work. A lot of weather or shopping apps will track you constantly just to serve ads.

Totally agree with @the_xena, doing that made a huge difference for me. I went through my apps last month and was shocked how many had location access turned on all the time. My flashlight app was tracking me, which is just crazy. Turning everything off except for maps and my ride share app really cut down on the creepy targeted ads. It only takes about ten minutes to check everything in your settings.
