Just had to pick between a free VPN and a paid one for my home network
My old router died last week and I needed a new security setup. The choice was a free VPN service with a ton of ads or paying $40 a year for a basic plan from a known company. I went with the paid one after reading it keeps no logs. It was a bit slower at first, but after adjusting the settings, my connection is solid and I feel way safer. Has anyone else made this switch and found a good setup for family devices?

Man, I feel you. My free VPN was so slow it made streaming a joke, and those pop-up ads were just creepy. I switched to a cheap paid one last year and it was a game changer for my smart TV and phone. Like hart.sage said, you really do get what you pay for. Took me an hour to set up the router right, but now everything just works without me worrying about it.

Good call, you get what you pay for with that stuff.

My free one once leaked my location to a pizza ad, so I'm clearly the target market.
