The webinar that fell apart because I forgot to check the recording settings
Last Tuesday I was running a live demo for about 40 prospects, showing how our endpoint tool stops ransomware in real time. Halfway through, I realized the recording software had been capturing my desktop audio instead of my microphone the whole time. I had to stop, apologize, and tell them I'd send a replay link later that week. Has anyone else had a tech glitch turn a perfectly good presentation into a mess like that?

Ran into this exact nightmare about a year ago. I started doing a quick 30 second test recording before every single live thing now - just record a sentence or two and play it back to make sure levels are right. Also got a separate audio interface so I can see the input source visually before I start. Saved me more times than I can count since then.

Did you find the separate interface actually helped with weird USB port issues too?

That 30 second test would've saved me from explaining to 40 people why I sounded like a robot drowning in a fish tank.
