Got yelled at by an 8-year-old for not petting my dog in Animal Crossing
I was showing my niece how to fish and she got mad I skipped the dialog bubble from my villager... "You have to pet him, Uncle Kevin, he's sad." Has anyone else had a kid totally change how you play a cozy game?

Definitely, my nephew refuses to let me skip any villager dialogue now.

My nephew did the same thing to me last summer, and honestly it made the game way better than I expected. I was trying to rush through an early farming tutorial and he made me sit there and read every single line from the old guy. Now I actually pay attention to the little stories they tell, and I found out there's a whole side plot about a lost dog that I never would have caught before. @the_faith your nephew might be onto something even if it feels slow at first.

Kids are usually the ones who figure out the secret stuff we miss because we're too focused on beating the game fast. That lost dog side plot you mentioned, I bet that's the kind of thing where if you skip it, the game actually feels empty later on. Maybe the tutorial is designed to teach you that patience, like a test to see if you'll actually care about the world. Some games hide their best moments behind the boring stuff to filter out players who just want to rush to the end. So your nephew might be training you to play the game the way the devs really intended.
