Got roasted in a Stardew Valley forum for planting blueberries too early in year 1

Some user told me I was wasting my time because blueberries take 13 days to mature and you only get like 5 harvests before fall. I was just excited about having money for a coop, but they broke it down with math and everything. Switched to planting 40 parsnips instead and ended up buying a chicken by mid summer. Has anyone else had their whole farm strategy wrecked by a stranger with a spreadsheet?

Whoa wait, you only get FIVE harvests from blueberries before fall? I've been playing this game for like 80 hours and I always just threw blueberries down in spring because they looked pretty. That's brutal math. Did that person show you the gold per day spreadsheet or just give you the numbers?

Oh man, 80 hours and nobody told you? That's rough. I did the same thing my first playthrough, just planted whatever looked nice and wondered why my wallet was always empty. The spreadsheet people are intense but they're not wrong about the spring turnover pain.

Start looking at gold per day spreadsheets and youll never see a crop the same way again. Blueberries are actually solid in summer but spring is all about the quick turnover crops like potatoes and kale.
