Had a client call me out for using too much heat on her hair last month

She had fine, highlighted hair and I was blasting it with 450 degrees like I always did. She told me her last stylist used 380 and I thought no way that would work, but I tried it on her roots and mids. Now I check the heat before I even pick up the iron for anyone with color or thin strands. Has anyone else adjusted their heat settings based on feedback like that?
